Is this normal for first time tampon users?

well if u feel any discomfort when u have a tampon in u put it in wrong or not far enough so u should take it out right away and try again with a new one thats probably why it bleed through quickly and u felt discomfort u can keep a tampon in for 8 hours it says right on the instructions on how to insert one
