How do you stop a co-worker from getting on your case?

He's not even my boss, just a co-worker but he's the temperamental type and sometimes he'll start trying to 'correct' me and these corrections are stupid and really serve no purpose. I yell back at him sometimes and he backs off for awhile but then it gradually comes back. let's assume talking to management isn't an option because they frankly don't care. I just try doing my job but I'm constantly harrassed by this guy
