What will happen if power factor is more than 1?

Here in site, when we connect the power factor correction meter for 875 KVA, whole steps are getting on. I removed the correction meter and connect the capacitors individyally by switching on by manual control. when it reaches 4 steps, the PF comes around 0.98. what will happen if all the 12 steps are on? by 4 steps i added only 150 Kvar only. by all steps it will come 875 Kva. please advice me.
