I don't get this comic?

There is a riddle that has to be worded very specifically to make any sense. I can't remember it at the moment. But your supposed to say something like "Angry and hungry end in -gry. There are three words in the English language. What's the third." In the comic, the first guy said it incorrectly so that the answer he gave didn't make sense. The second guy was making the point that trying to look smart by incorrectly repeating something just makes you look dumb.
