Why are dentists so overpaid?

Dentists are NOT overpaid. People don't understand how much the equipment and the products cost. When you do a root canal there are a lot of instruments we use that we can only use with that one patient. When you do a crown and or bridge you have to send the impression to the lab and the lab itself bills the dentist an expensive bill to make the crown and or bridge. The impression material itself (depending on which brand) can cost around $300. Not to include the impression for your temporary and the temporary itself. There are a lot of things that the dentists have to buy that the patients don't know about. I understand if you go in for a crown and see the bill and think what the heck its expensive they didn't really do anything. Teeth are very small, it doesn't take much to fix them. The price of the materials used to fix a tooth is where the money goes to. At the office I work at we spend about $2000 EVERY two weeks for material.
