Financial aid only for spring semester?

I have already applied for FAFSA a long time ago (maybe around February or March) and I already got the aid. However, i'm changing universities so the aid was for my former university. Do I just do the corrections to get aid for the spring semester at my new university? I don't need financial aid for fall, is it possible to not do it for the whole academic year? I am going to community college before going to a new college because I missed the deadline so I haven't been accepted, can I put the school's name now on FAFSA? Or do I have to wait until I am accepted to put it down? Lots of questions. Any help would be appreciated.
